Gaia's Lament
I decided to segue three existing tracks together to create a new release, these are: 1. "They Chose Greed Over Life" (the dramatic choral opening in 5/4 time, using the Mixolydian flat 6 scale). 2. "Armageddon Extinction Apocalypse" (the dissonant, atonal ambient middle section). 3. "Gaia's Lament" (the plaintive final section with strings and soprano voices). The first two tracks originally had different names, but I renamed them to suit the overall narrative. The artwork, while reminiscent of a nuclear blast, is actually of a sunset over a field in the vicinity of the A39 road somewhere on the North Devon / Somerset border back in February 2005.more

Elevenses
A little piece I came up with in 11/8 time (hence the name "Elevenses")... I was using the Emergence Audio "Soprano Textures" plugin, along with some Spitfire Audio plugins (double bass and trombone from BBC Symphony Orchestra, and a couple of vocal sounds from "Micah's Choir" from Spitfire LABS), together with piano from my Korg SP-250, and drums from my Roland TR-8. Then there's a Tam Tam from my Roland JV-1080, and a couple of Freesound samples (cymbal swell and crash).more

Sunburst at the Lake (Vocal Mix)
A transatlantic collaboration with my friend @Stingrayz (Robert Fischer) who composed a vocal melody and words to my tune "Sunburst at the Lake" and sang vocals (he sent me a vocal track which I added to the original instrumental mix). The words are: "It's a beautiful bright sunny day As the cold heartless fog melts away As you open your eyes to the sky As you open your wings and fly As you go on this bright sunny day Open your heart and say This light and love will stay for awhile As you open your smile and play" The photograph on the artwork was taken on the Summer Solstice this year (21st June) at Bilberry Reservoir near Holmfirth in West Yorkshire, England.more
